Over-consumption of substances(cigarettes, tea, coffee, cola, etc), old prostheses and coatings, antibiotics or excessive flouride can leave stains on the surface of the teeth. The method of teeth whitening is applied in two ways.
In the clinic, the whitening gel is applied by a specialst and places the teeth under a white light for a period of time. Results are recognizable after the process.
The second method can be applied by the patient at home. The specialist have a mold prepared spesifically for the patient. The Patient then, applies the mold with whitening gel to the teeth by the doctor’s reccommended time period.
It differs with every patient and each method but it generally remains for years. Eating, drinking, smoking and brushing habits, all affect the duration of whiteness.
In this method, a special gel is used. However, unlike the process with chemical substances, a special beam of light with high energy is applied. The light source may consist of a series of LED sor diodes-lasers. Must be done under the supervision of the dentist.
It is possible to get better results in a very short time with laser teeth whitening. Patients with genetically excessive violet coloration(hyperpigmentation) can be cured with 3 or 4 sessions of laser peeling.
To achieve lasting results, this should be applied 2-3 sessions of 15 minutes each, professionally.
